Join Tom Lea Institute founder, Adair Margo on a guided walking tour in downtown El Paso that will include:

  • Tom Lea’s “Pass of the North Mural”, recognized as “the finest mural of the New Deal Period.”

  • Carlos Callejo’s “Our History” Mural which is packed with collaged vignettes of historic people, places and events.

  • John Valadez’ “A Day in El Paso del Norte” mural which depicts a downtown scene replete with El Paso history, personalities, symbols and way of life.

  • James Drake’s “Pass of the North” sculpture which tells El Paso’s story through steel representations of the historic courthouse, train station and Ysleta Mission.

Celebration of Our Mountains is cohosting this event with the Tom Lea Institute and is the first in a series of monthly events with the Institute.

Meet at 10 AM at the entrance of Hotel Indigo, 325 N. Kansas St. (MAP). After the tour you may want to join the rest of the group for lunch at Mamacitas restaurant at Hotel Indigo. (No host.) Wear comfortable shoes. Questions? Call 915-533-0048.
