Learn more about Texas bats from our Urban Wildlife Biologist, Lois Balin, then walk into an arroyo and watch bats emerge and take flight. Meet at the corner of Alabama and Stoney Hill. There is parking all along Stoney Hill. (MAP) Wear sturdy footgear. Bring water and a mask. The most common species in our region is the Brazilian free-tailed bat (Tadarida brasiliensis). Using a bat detector, you can identify other bat species.
