Hike one of the Franklin Mountains State Park more challenging (yet rated moderate) trails and get some of the finest views of the Franklin and surrounding mountains. Including Loop1, this hike covers 4-5 miles and will take around four hours. It is on trail except for walking on rocks in an arroyo.
Plan to meet at 8:20 AM and start hiking at 8:30 AM. Meet at the end of Tom Mays Park. There is a $5 park fee per person. Get reservations and buy your pass HERE. Bring 2-3 liters of water and snacks. Once inside the park, drive to the end of the road where bathrooms and picnic tables are located.
