Visit the place where our water is tested for germs, pesticides, heavy metals and more in order to ensure that El Paso’s water is clean and safe. Public health and safety is the priority everyday. You will see a state of the art chemistry lab and learn how water is tested for a variety of contaminants. This field trip is geared toward older high school students and scouts on a science and chemistry track, university science students, and interested adults in the community. This is not a field trip for young children.
The International Water Quality Laboratory is located at 4100-L Delta Drive. (MAP) Parking is limited at the lab because of construction at the water treatment plant. However, there is plenty of parking one block east at the Sports Center on Shelter Place.
Labortory Service Manager, Richard Wilcox, will lead our tour.
