Enjoy a moderate 6- to 7-hour, 6-mile hike. hike at the north end of the Franklin Mountains. Meet at the trailhead on NM 404, Anthony Gap Road. Directions: From I-10 West, take Exit 162 (Anthony/Chaparral) NM 404. Drive east 4.2 miles. Turn left onto a dirt road. Go through green gate. Drive .2 mile to a flat parking area on the left. There is a $2 FMSP fee. Do bring three liters of water, snacks, sturdy hiking boots a jacket, and a sack lunch to eat on top.
