El Paso Water Utilities has a history of innovative solutions for our community's water supply challenges. Be one of the first to tour our latest solution - the Advanced Water Purification Pilot Facility. We are pilot testing a purification process, and we plan to build a full scale facility in the future. Join us to view this state-of-the-art process that will produce a new local water supply that is safe and reliable, drought-proof and sustainable. Tour Guidelines: 10 people per tour. Two tours - 8 AM and 10 AM. Each tour is approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Minimum age is 15. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors must wear flat, closed-toes shoes and pants that cover the ankles. The location of the facility is the Bustamante Wastewater Treatment Plant. From I-10, take Americas Avenue/Loop 375 south to Pan American, turn left and travel 1.5 miles to the plant entrance.
