I had a delightful stroll along Edgemere Linear Park trail this morning. It stretches from Airway to Hawkins along Edgemere. (MAP) It is 1.4-miles in length so you’ll get an almost 3-miles walk or run round trip. I parked at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and walked for 30 minutes. The morning was sunny with a slight breeze and a temperature of 70°. I couldn’t have asked for better conditions.

This park serves the Cielo Vista/Burges High School area. Like me, there were a few solo walkers, a couple or two and a woman with her young child.

The landscaping seemed nascent with a few older trees. It appears that there may have been or is some ongoing work on the park. There are plenty of benches along the way. Some donated by Rotary.

Getting out, getting sunshine and exercise is good for the immune system. It reduces stress and anxiety and heavens knows that we need that now. It’s good for the heart - well, the whole body and soul. Right now it is so important to social distance and avoid crowds. However, there is no prohibition of exercising solo outdoors. Stay safe. Stay at home. But don’t get fat and depressed. Take a walk in our beautiful El Paso sunshine. This trail is good for that and the people in the neighborhood and passer-bys should take advantage of it.
