Eastwood Park, popularly referred to as Album Park, is a gem. There are no trails through it, but there is a wide, asphalt-paved walk around its perimeter. I probably saw a 100 or so people out walking, running and strolling. There were teams of kids doing their running drills. I even saw one person skateboarding at a really nice skateboard section outside of a recreation center.
The park has older pines and poplars. The trunks of many of the poplars are natural works of art.
The Franklins can be seen to the west.
The park does act as a retention pond and swells to a lake complete with geese later in the year. I’ve seen some cool Facebook videos of the lake. Unfortunately, FB doesn’t have a usable embed code for our blog.
I must come earlier next time. (I was there just before 8:30 AM). I’m guessing that birdwatching would be better. The dominant species that I saw while there were grackles - many grackles.
The park is a great place for fresh air, and sunshine mixed with the shade of trees. The green, the air, the sun and the exercise are great for one’s immune system. Of the hundred or so people whom I saw, only four souls wore masks.
I’m coming back here soon. (MAP)
