The COM field trip to Bishop’s Cap turned out to be quite a marathon. Here is how hike leader, Mike Lee, described it: “t went well. We had a total of 18 including me between COM and El Paso Hiking Club. I wouldn't do the peak and mines in the same hike as we barely made it drinking our own sweat. Going to the peak and back down or avoiding the peak and just doing the mines is much more feasible. 14 of 18 gave up after the peak and so I sent them back to the cars with one of our co organizers. 3 others and I went down to the mines but in total was 9 miles and got done after 5pm! At least the 14 got to see the main mine from the peak.”
