Our local Auduboners will be birding in Cloudcroft, NM tomorrow. Of course, anyone interested can go. It may be a great way to beat our triple digit heat here in El Paso. Daytime temperatures in this paradise with an elevation of 8,668' on Saturday are predicted to range from 56° to 77°. In El Paso tomorrow, expect a high of 102°.
Just the other day, Janet Perkins spotted a beautiful male Western Tanager!
A great place to eat just before coming home (and who should be in a hurry) is Rebecca's at the Lodge. Great food. Beautiful views. White table cloths. First class. The Lodge is located at 601 Corona Place. Or take a diversion to Casa de Suenos, 35 St Francis Drive, just a few miles north of Alamogordo in Tularosa. It is the best New Mexican eatery in the county.
You can check out all of the details about the birding adventure at at http://www.celebmtns.org/events/2018/go-birding-in-cloudcroft-and-the-mescalero-fish-hatchery.
Trip from El Paso can be done in carpools.
