Welcome to Celebration of Our Mountains

Keep an eye on our Calendar of Events. Beginning this year we will be adding more events from some of the other conservation and environmental groups. Also, we will once again be having a full line of Earth Month (April) programs: hikes, field trips and the always popular Yoga on the Rocks.

I invite you to get to know the many great organizations in and around El Paso that promote learning and recreation in the great outdoors of our part of the beautiful Chihuahuan Desert. Many of these have come together to form the Environmental Leaders of El Paso: A collaboration focused on nature.

They are:

The Trans-Pecos Audubon Society

Chihuahuan Desert Education Coalition

Frontera Land Alliance

Texas Master Naturalists

Insights

EPCC Environmental Club

West Texas Urban Forestry Council

El Paso Cactus and Rock Club

UTEP Green Team

El Paso County Master Gardeners

Native Plant Society of New Mexico El Paso Chapter

Franklin Mountains Wilderness Coalition

Celebration of Our Mountains

Friends of the Rio Bosque

El Paso Group Sierra Club

Greater Big Bend Coalition

Keystone Wetlands

U.S. Green Building Council West Texas Chapter

Eco El Paso

One of the objectives of Celebration of Our Mountains is to introduce these and other organizations to event participants with the hope that some may want to become members. All of the above groups educate El Pasoans about the values of nature, water, wildlife and conservation of land. The Collaberative helps to improve the quality of life of El Pasoans by sharing resources and working together on enviromental and conservation issues.

Again, keep an eye on the Celebration of Our Mountains calendar.
