Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is located in San Antonio, Socorro County, New Mexico. The refuge is known for the tens of thousands of cranes, geese and ducks who winter there each year. Come out and bird with us! Meeting location is at 8:30 am at the Visitor Center. We will car pool into the Refuge from the Visitor Center. This is a driving loop. I will explain logistics the morning of. For those of you who want to experience the early morning fly in, plan to be at the Refuge before sunrise and please dress warm because it will be cold! Sunset is also a beautiful scene at the Refuge and with it being winter, sunset usually will start around 6:30 pm. There is a $5 entrance fee per vehicle (Bring exact change just in case there isn't someone at the booth). Federal Duck Stamp and America The Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Lands Pass are accepted Lodging: For those of you wanting to drive in the day before, there are lodging options in Socorro, New Mexico which is only about 15 minutes away.
