Join Celebration of Our Mountains Board Director and geologist, Paul Galvan, and take your 4x4 offroad with us and visit Tonuco mountain for a moderate hike to collect fluorite and other minerals. You'll also see beautifully preserved petroglyphs carved into the fallen rocks in the canyon and enter some old mines so bring your flashlight! You will need a high clearance 4x4 offroad vehicle for this trip or carpool with someone with one.
Meet at the Dairy Queen at Transmountain Rd. and I-10 at 7:45 AM. The drive to Tonuco Mountain is approximately 1.5 hrs.
