Astronomy Night: Moon Gazing and Lyrid Meteor Shower

The Lyrids

Our Apology. This event has been cancelled due to the high winds and dust.

Get a basic introduction to telescopes and how to use them to explore the night sky followed by a night of moon, planet, star gazing and if we’re lucky, a few meteors streaking across the purple sky. Feel free to bring your own telescope or use one of the 4 different ones we have in our collection. Meet at Sue Young Park on Diana and Stahala in the dark, lightless field tucked away behind the playground. (See map link below.) Bring a lawn chair or blanket, snacks, water, and your own telescope if you have one. Meet at the open field by the playground and look for the green flashlights.
