Fall is a great time for plants in El Paso. The cooler weather combined with the monsoon rains lead to a second flowering for many species, and other plants only flower in the fall. Join Kevin Floyd, botanical curator, and walk through the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens and learn more about the plant collection and get ideas for your home garden and landscaping.
Your guide will highlight some plants that will be for sale during the FloraFest plant sale, which was postponed from the spring and is tentatively scheduled for early October. This ever popular plant sale is the only fundraiser for the maintenance and operation of the gardens. Stay tuned for more information.
The Chihuahuan Desert Gardens is located on the grounds of the Centennial Museum on the UTEP campus. (MAP) Parking is open on Sundays.
