Experience a region of transition between two biological communities where you can see an abundance of birds and other fauna: javelina, mule deer, bobcat, lizards, box turtles, horned toads and more. You can identify native plants used for food and medicine by pre-historic and historic peoples. You will see in the landscaped garden area as well as out on the trail both native and non-native flora. The architecture of the Visitor’s Center reflects a history of cultural influences.

Join Park Ranger Interpreter, Alex Mares, on this trip to one of the most diverse and beautiful spots along the Rio Grande. He will be joined by expert birder, Star Posada. Bring your binoculars. The iNaturalist app and the Merlin app are recommended.
