Tour of the Trost Architectural Treasures in Downtown El Paso

Take a tour of the downtown buildings designed by Henry C. Trost and his brothers. You will leave the tour with an appreciation for the architectural masterpieces of our city in general. Your leader will be Dr. Max Grossman who is Vice-Chair of The Trost Society, El Paso. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Preservation Texas, Austin, and is an Associate Profesor of Art History at UTEP. He will discuss the career of Henry C. Trost and his brothers in El Paso, starting with the establishment of Trost & Trost in 1903. Your tour will include the principal commercial buidings in the area around the San Jacinto Plaza and a discussion of the Trost syle, history and significance.

Meet at the “Los Lagartos” fountain in the center of San Jacinto Plaza (MAP) at 9 AM. Social distancing will be strictly maintained. Bring a mask. Hand sanitizer will be available. Bring hats and water. No pets. The tour is free.
