Joint the El Paso Cactus and Rock Club for a field trip to the mines of the Jarilla Mountains near Orogrande, NM. You will make several stops including the Lucky Lode mine, Tiffany turquoise and the iron mines in the south of the mountains. If the group is up to it, hike to the top of the Iron Duke mine at the end of the trip.

Meet atthe Valero gas station on Hondo Pass and US54. (MAP) Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes for a hike. Cautions:  High clearance vehicles highly recommended, or carpool. Make sure to have a full tank of gas and plenty of water.
