Most people know about hiking to the ridge from McKelligon Canyon. But did you know that there is a great way from the westside? Park on Thunderbird Street where the water tanks and golf course are - approximately the 1100 block of Thunderbird. This will be an out and back hike of about 4 miles and 4 hours. The first two miles are all uphill and the last two miles downhill. We will be hiking up to the ridge that will look to the east onto McKelligon Canyon. There is a $2 FMSP fee or use your TX Parks Pass. Bring 2-3 liters of water, snacks and sturdy hiking boots. This hike is dog friendly if you dog has been trained and socialized. Bring doggie bags and water.
