Everest is the highest mountain if measured from sea level to summit – 29,035 feet. However, Mauna Kea from its underwater base to its tippy top is 33,500 feet, nearly a mile taller than Everest. After your very deep-sea dive, you will begin to climb the rest of Mauna Kea. However, you can cheat and drive to the top where, after 2 short hours of driving, you can visit the Mauna Kea observatory.
