Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the world’s largest inland desalination plant. The plant, a joint project of El Paso Water and Fort Bliss, produces up to 27.5 million gallons of fresh water daily. The desalination process uses the most comprehensive water treatment technology available, removing salts and other potential pollutants from brackish groundwater. Learn more about the plant’s history and operation, as well as Enviro Water Minerals Company’s innovative salt recovery techniques from Scott Reinert, El Paso Water’s Water Resources Engineer. Meet at the TecH20 Learning Center for orientation. A tour of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant and Enviro Water Minerals, 10751 Montana Ave., will follow. Expect minimal walking during this 1.5-hour tour.
