Meet Dr. Paul Hyder shortly before sunset to discuss various aspects of desert ecology. As the sun sets, you will begin exploring the area for organisms that will be starting their nocturnal activities. Dr. Hyder will discuss the various details of the ecology and behaviors of each organism. You will need decent hiking shoes and a flashlight. Event lasts 2 hours. Bring a UV light and/or camera if you can. Meet at the entrance gate of the Tom Mays Unit of the FMSP. From I-10 and Transmountain Road (Loop 375) travel east 3 miles on Transmountain/Loop 375 and turn left into the state park.
